When life feels overwhelming…
Michelle* was just a couple weeks post-partum and was standing at the kitchen sink full of dirty dishes, holding her son.
Her elementary-aged daughter was sitting at the kitchen table huffing about doing her schoolwork, and her husband just arrived home from a 12-hour shift. She hadn’t managed to get out of her pajamas from that morning, and her hair was in a messy bun. Everyone was exhausted and hangry.
Michelle could see the utter fatigue on her husband’s face as he sat down in the chair, and she could hear it in his voice as he said as calmly as he could muster, “Stop being a mom please. I need a wife.”
For a moment, her entire world paused. She instantly felt a flame rise in her chest as she gripped their son a little tighter. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and whispered a prayer, “Jesus help me.”
As she opened her eyes, she knew very distinctly that she had choices. She could allow her hurt feelings to dominate her mind and make a huge deal over how her husband asked for his needs to be met, or she could hand him the baby and eliminate the hangry factor from her household.
The choices we make…
Just like Michelle had a choice in her response, you have choices as well.
However, whether you are a single parent or married, trying to make the right choices and manage a family can be extremely difficult.
Our world can get so dominated by routine, school, work, and busyness that we forget to slow down and purposefully cultivate a healthy family environment.
We get wrapped up in our own needs and forget to speak to each other with love and respect. Hurt feelings occur and start piling on top of each other.
Years pass and these hurt feelings never get resolved, and then it feels too late. The kids grow up and grow out of the house. You and your spouse feel like strangers to each other. Everyone feels disconnected.
But pain can be resolved.
Hurt feelings can get healed. Years of anguish can be mended and turned into a lifetime of love.
Going through the healing process isn’t easy, but it will be worth it to get the healthy family you desire.
You are not alone. We are here to help you navigate through the murky terrain of hurt feelings, years of disconnection, and start the healing process to be able to create a deep family bond.
The word “Abba” refers to God and is a very intimate term in the Bible that can be translated to “Daddy.” We are a Christian counseling facility, and each practitioner has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our desire is to serve all members of the community, not just Christians, as we come along side you to strengthen, teach, and train you how to have a powerful marriage, how to have meaningful relationships with your children, and how to have a deep connection as a family.
Therapy with us…
When you call, you will be greeted by our Director of Operations, Joe Mabe. He will walk you through a few questions in order to match your needs with the best therapist.

We also have coffee and plenty of tissues. Our goal is to change your heart and see tears of joy from your transformed life and family.
