Rachel Alger

Sometimes life has a way of shifting our direction.

For the past 16 years, I proudly wore the title of teacher, pouring into the minds and hearts of young students, shaping futures one day at a time. Teaching was never just a job to me; it was a calling. But over time, something deeper stirred within me, a longing to meet people not just in their learning, but in their living. In their struggles. In their silence. In their grief.

Time to change hats.

There came a moment when I knew it was time to change hats. While I had always been passionate about helping others, I realized that my purpose was expanding beyond the classroom. I felt led to walk with people through life’s hardest moments, to hold space for their pain, and to speak truth and encouragement into their healing. That’s when my path to becoming a counselor became clear.

Growing up

My family felt like the Brandy Bunch loving, loud, and full of memories. But devastation came quickly and unexpectedly. I lost both of my parents within a two-year span, all before I turned 18. That kind of heartbreak is difficult to put into words. It shaped the way I view life, loss, and the deep need we all have for connection and support. It also planted the seeds for the empathy I now carry into every conversation.

The weight of expectations

I understand what it feels like to juggle the weight of expectations from being a spouse, a parent, and a professional; all while silently wrestling with your own emotions. Sometimes we find ourselves moving through life just trying to keep our heads above water. Other times, we feel like we’re drowning in grief, anxiety, or the invisible pressures of it all.

My heart

is to walk alongside individuals, children, and couples who feel overwhelmed, overlooked, or simply unsure of how to move forward. I believe transformation is possible not by pretending everything is okay, but by bravely facing what’s not and learning how to rewrite the next chapter.

You don’t have to do it alone.

Let’s walk this road together with honesty, hope, and the belief that healing is not only possible, but waiting.
